International Media Studies Scholarships: Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle invites journalists from around the world to apply for full scholarships to study in Bonn, Germany, in a Master’s program in International Media Studies.
Fifteen applicants from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Eastern Europe will be granted the scholarships. The program is a four-semester, full-time program.
The International Media Studies Master's Program trains students to be competent journalists and prepares them for a challenging role as expert or manager in the media sector.
Students will acquire the knowledge and skills that are essential for a journalistic career.
They will be able to meet specific occupational requirements with expertise and communicative independence.

The Master's Program trains students - personally and professionally - to be competent journalists and prepare them for a challenging role as expert or manager in the media sector.
It combines topics including media and development, journalism, communication science and media economics, while helping students develop practical skills and competencies that are important in the world of media.
The program is a joint project of the University of Bonn, the Bonn Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and Deutsche Welle, with its headquarters in Bonn.
Applicants need a bachelor's degree and more than one year of professional experience in a media-related field.
As the Master's program is bilingual, applicants must have good verbal and written communication skills in German and English.

Scholarships for African Students in India

Scholarships for African Students in India: The Government of India, through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), offers about 2325 scholarships under 21 scholarship schemes. Of these scholarships, 500 are exclusively for African countries. There are students in India under these schemes from about 80 countries. Most of the scholarship holders come from developing countries in Asia, Africa, South and Central America. However, there are quite a few students from the developed countries as well. Around 3550 foreign students are currently studying in India under the various scholarship schemes. The students are in graduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes as well as in professional courses such as engineering, pharmacy, accountancy, business administration and management. Scholarships are also given for learning Indian dance, music, painting, sculpture, etc.

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) administers its own scholarship schemes apart from which it also functions as an agency for other schemes on behalf of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Finance of the Government of India.

Wells Mountain Foundation Scholarships

Wells Mountain Foundation Scholarships: The purpose of the Foundation is primarily to support programs and individuals in developing nations or other situations of extreme poverty. Each year the Foundation’s Empowerment Through Education program provides support to a number of students as they pursue various educational objectives. Support is provided for post-secondary school (college, university, polytechnic, trade school). Support is not provided for graduate degrees or study in the US, UK or other developed countries. Financial support is primarily to cover the costs of the education itself and directly related expenses including books and supplies. Scholarships are generally granted for the full period of study, however, recipients must maintain good grades and provide copies of all semester reports and grades as they are received. The scholarship can be discontinued at any time in the event of unsatisfactory performance. The scholarship awards are determined by the Scholarship Committee of the Board of Directors of the Wells Mountain Foundation and awarded once a year.

The foundation does not require the applicant to pay an admission or processing fee or to buy a number to have the application reviewed. Scholarship Eligibility An ideal candidate is a student, male or female, from a country in the developing world, who: Successfully completed a secondary education, with good to excellent grades. Will be studying in their country or another country in the developing world. Plans to live and work in their own country after they graduate. Has volunteered prior to applying for this scholarship and/or is willing to volunteer while receiving the WMF scholarship. May have some other funds available for their education, but will not be able to go to school without a scholarship. Submits a complete, legible application in English (please proof-read). Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Scholarships Cover Scholarships range from $300.US to a rare high of $3000.US and cover Tuition and fees. Books and materials. Room rent and meals. Doctoral Scholarships for Developing Countries - IRO Scholarships

Doctoral Scholarships for Developing Countries: As one of its contributions to development co-operation, K.U.Leuven offers each academic year scholarships to deserving students from developing countries to do their PhD in the largest university in Flanders, Belgium.
Also commonly referred to as the IRO scholarships (IRO in Dutch stands for Interfacultaire Raad voor Ontwikkelingssamenwerking), this scholarship programme has supported more than sixty PhD graduates over the past five years.

Essential to the application for the IRO scholarship and to completing a doctoral programme successfully is the choice of a good doctoral research topic and supervisor.
New applicants are now provided two alternatives: either by selecting amongst the priority research fields offered by the doctoral schools or by submitting their own personal research proposal.
K.U.Leuven, which is situated at about 20 kilometers from Brussels, the capital of both Belgium and Europe, is the oldest university of the Low Countries.

As such, it has a long-standing tradition of hospitality towards students and scholars from abroad.
At present, almost 4,000 international students (about 10% of the total number of students at K.U.Leuven) have found their home away from home in Leuven.
The scholarships are only granted for doctoral or pre-doctoral programmes. Scholarships for a pre-doctoral programme are awarded for only one year.
The scholarship may be converted into a scholarship for doctoral studies, thus extended for 4 more years, on the condition that you pass the pre-doctoral programme with distinction and are admitted to the doctoral programme.
The maximum period for which you may be awarded a scholarship is thus 5 years: 1 pre-doctoral year and 4 doctoral years.

UCSC Africa Scholarship - Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Italy

UCSC Africa Scholarship: Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC), Italy, has developed a special program for students from the African continent.
The program enables students to study on a full or partial scholarship for degree programs taught in English at UCSC’s Milan Campus.
UCSC is pleased to offer 12 full scholarships that include tuition and board for eligible students from African countries.
The full scholarships include tuition and board for the duration of the program.
Full scholarships are available for:

UCSC Africans Scholarships Eligibility
Admission requirements for all programs include completion of at least a Bachelor Degree from a recognized university (2nd class upper division / 2.1 degree or higher) and IELTS 6.0 or equivalent if English is not the official language in your country.
For the MBA at least three years of work experience and GMAT/GRE are required (students can apply without a GMAT/GRE score; however this test has to be taken before program commencement).
For the Master of International Business no work experience is required.

Churches Commission on Overseas Students Hardship Fund

Overseas Students Hardship Fund: The Hardship Fund was set up by the Churches to assist international students, irrespective of their race, sex or religion, who face unexpected financial problems during the final stages of their courses.
It is administered ecumenically on the basis of agreed criteria and an Awards Committee meets four times a year, normally in March, June, September and December.
All grants are made at the discretion of the Awards Committee, whose decision is final. Grants do not normally exceed £800 in total but the average is £500.
Between Meetings, the Grant Secretary is authorized exceptionally to give emergency grants not exceeding £200 and these are reported at the next Awards Committee.

Scholarship Application Eligibility Criteria:

Apart from exceptional circumstances, awards are made only to students from developing countries, preferably to those who can show that their qualifications will benefit the developing world.

Awards are made only to those who can clearly show that an award would enable them to complete their courses: students in the final stage of a one-year or modular degree, or in the last 6 months of an M.Phil. or Ph.D. research programme, or for field trips abroad.

No awards are made to those studying outside the U.K, E.U., U.S.A. or other developed countries, or for field trips abroad.

Project Grant - Aid to the Church in Need

Project Grant:  Aid to the Church in Need supports in excess of 5,000 projects a year, in more than 130 countries around the world.

Grants for Projects - How Aid to the Church in Need can help
Aid to the Church in Need focuses on providing help for the spiritual and pastoral work of the poor and persecuted Church.
We will only consider specific projects that will further the Church’s mission.

These include:

• Building and repairing seminaries, churches and chapels
• Providing means of transport for priests and Sisters
• Supporting catechetical programmes
• Publishing and distributing Bibles and other Christian literature
• Broadcasting Christian TV and radio programmes
• Providing Mass stipends to priests

We are unable to help private individuals with schooling, medical or living expenses. We cannot help with paying off debts already incurred. We do not usually pay open-ended subsidies or general living expenses.
We generally leave the funding of humanitarian and development projects to other charities; if your project is of that nature, please search the internet for charities which specialise in that equally important work.

Project Grants - Who can apply

We will consider applications from anyone in a responsible position on behalf of the Church – bishops, priests, deacons, lay persons and members of religious orders – superiors and provincials, Sisters and Brothers.

If you are applying as a lay person on behalf of your parish, you should include with your application a letter of support from your parish priest.

We can only consider direct applications. If you are applying to Aid to the Church in Need on behalf of a priest with whom you correspond, please show him this information and inform him that he must apply personally.

We feel that it is a priest’s responsibility to apply directly to us; we do not approach him – it would be unfair to raise his hopes, since our funds are limited.
How to Apply for Project Grants

Applications must be made directly to Aid to the Church in Need by the person in charge of the project.

A summary of the plans and budget for the project will be required. Normally, this information can be provided on a few sheets of paper.

If the project involves building work, architects’ plans and costings will be needed.

If the project is the purchase of a vehicle, a quotation from a local supplier will be required.

Owing to the large number of applications received, the Project Department cannot acknowledge receipt of applications.

Applicants are requested to be patient in waiting for a reply.
If the Project Department has to spend time answering enquiries about the progress of applications, it prevents us dealing with the thousands of aid applications the charity receives each year.

Theological Education Fund for Women Scholarships: The WARC Scholarships help women prepare for ordination.
The main purpose of the scholarship fund is to increase the number of women in the ordained ministry and to enable women from a wide network of Reformed churches in the South to build their capacity for effective partnership in God’s mission.
The Theological Education Scholarship Fund for Women in the South provides for first degree or diploma studies which are done at a seminary or college in the home country or region of scholarship awardees.
Since launching the Theological Education Scholarship Fund for Women in the South, WARC has supported women from Argentina, Brazil, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guyana, India, Kenya, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nigeria, the Republic of Congo, Rwanda, South Africa, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda and Venezuela.

Scholarship Guidelines:

Scholarships are to be available to women of any age pursuing a first degree/diploma in theology (Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelor of Divinity) towards ordained ministry.

Scholarships are to provide opportunities for studies within the home country or region.

Priority will be given to member churches with a low number of ordained women in the church.

Applicants must provide detailed statement of need, other funding sources, and information on institution/place of study.

Applicants must provide a budget: tuition fee, food and lodging, travel, books and other necessities.

Applicants must specify the period of studies.

Distance Learning Masters Scholarships (University of Edinburgh)

Distance Learning Masters Scholarships, University of Edinburgh: The University of Edinburgh will offer nine Master's scholarships for eligible distance learning Master's programmes offered by the University.
Each scholarship will have a total value of £5,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fee for the entire part-time programme of study.
Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.

A completed scholarship application form, together with a copy of your degree transcript and two academic references, should be received by the Scholarships and Student Finance Office.

DFID Shared Scholarship Scheme
MSc Community Eye Health & MSc Control of Infectious Diseases Scholarships: The Shared Scholarship Scheme is a joint initiative between the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (with funding from DFID), and UK universities, to support scholarships for students from developing Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to study in the United Kingdom.
The award is only offered to applicants for the MSc Community Eye Health and the MSc Control of Infectious Diseases.
Scholarship Applicants Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants should:

be nationals of (or permanently domiciled in) a Commonwealth developing country, Rwanda and not currently be living or studying in a developed country.

hold a first degree at either first or upper second class level.

be sufficiently fluent in English to pursue the course.

have not previously studied for one year or more in a developed country.

not be employed by a government department (at national level) or a parastatal organisation (employees of universities are normally acceptable, however).

be willing to confirm that they will return to their home country as soon as their period of study is complete.

are themselves, or through their families, unable to pay to study in the UK.

hold an offer of admission for either one of the eligible course at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine Candidates should first apply for their chosen course at LSHTM as only applicants with an offer of admission will be eligible for the Shared Scholarship awards.

Catholic Theological Union Scholarships

Catholic Theological Union Scholarships: Catholic Theological Union has established a variety of Scholarship Programs, each designed with specific ministry opportunities in mind.
In addition to the General Scholarship fund, the Tolton Scholars Program, Romero Scholars Program, and Bernardin Scholars Program aid qualifying students who intend to pursue the particular ministry and formation goals of the respective programs.

Lay men and women and women religious are eligible for awards from the General Scholarship Fund.
Tuition remission awards are available for up to 40 percent for lay women and men and up to 20 percent for women religious.

Gordon Memorial College Trust Fund

The purpose of the Gordon Memorial College Trust Fund is to promote educational development in Sudan.
In recent years this has led the Trustees to support two kinds of activities. Firstly, educational projects in Sudan and secondly, individual Sudanese students studying for a postgraduate course in the UK, but who intend to return to Sudan at the end of their studies.
If you are such a student and wish to apply to the Trust Fund for financial support, please download and complete the application form. The application form is only available for download and completion between January and March.
The criteria on which grants are awarded is as follows:

Support for students in progress rather than those wanting to embark on new courses

A letter of support from the student's Supervisor.

Requested amounts to be of manageable size.

Need to take into account the expected completion date.

No support given for dependent relatives.

The Christian International Scholarship Foundation Grants

The Christian International Scholarship Foundation Grants: The Christian International Scholarship Foundation (CISF) helps fund the doctoral studies of select senior Christian leaders from majority world countries.
Christian International Scholarship Foundation (CISF) specifically helps those men and women who have exhausted their educational opportunities in their home country and continent and have senior leadership positions waiting for them upon their return home.
By senior it means that they are slated to be the president or dean of a recognized Bible College or seminary; or a senior faculty member of a similar organization; or the Executive Director of a relief organization; or a national leader of their denomination.

Most CISF-sponsored students study at Fuller Theological Seminary or Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Others study at Trinity Theological Seminary in Singapore, China Graduate School of Theology in Hong Kong or Oxford Center for Mission Studies in England.
On a very limited basis we make exceptions to this list of approved schools, but it is seldom.
CISF does not support undergraduate work, Master's work (M.Div., MA, MAR) or Doctorate of Ministry degrees.

CISF also do not support studies in non-theological fields.
CISF will not support a PhD scholar studying in the west who has just finished a Master's level degree in the west without returning home for a period of ministry and teaching.
Leaders who receive a grant from CISF are expected to return to their home country to serve.
If they fail to return home immediately upon completing their degree, or do not stay in the home country (or a neighboring country) for at least ten years following the completion of studies, they are required to pay back their CISF grant.
The competition for a CISF award is very keen.
Awards are typically for $10,000 per year and are renewable for approximately four years.
If you believe that you meet these qualifications you are invited to submit a one page letter explaining why.
Those who fit CISF profile will be sent an application.

OHCHR’s Indigenous Fellowship Programme

OHCHR’s Indigenous Fellowship Programme: Applications are invited for attending the Indigenous Fellowship Programme, which runs from 1-4 months for different languages (English, French, Spanish and Russian).
During the Programme, selected Fellows will be based at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Fellows will undergo interactive trainings on topics such as the work of OHCHR, the UN system and mechanisms etc.
By the end of the programme, fellows will have increased general knowledge about "United Nations system, international human rights instruments and mechanisms, in particular those relevant to indigenous peoples and be capable of giving training sessions within their communities/ organizations on the knowledge acquired."
Selected candidates for the fellowship will receive air travel support (return ticket by economy class) from their country of residence to Geneva, modest accommodation in Geneva, basic health insurance and a monthly grant to cover living expenses.
There are different dates scheduled programmes in different languages and there are also different deadlines for submitting applications for different languages.

Turkish Government Scholarships for Undergraduate & Graduate (Master/PhD) Studies

Turkish Government Scholarships: If there is no special note in bilateral agreements; Turkish Government offers scholarships for Undergraduate and Graduate (Master/PhD) studies, as well as for Research and Turkish Language Summer Courses.
Scholarship notifications are announced through diplomatic channels.
Candidates should apply to the authorized bodies of their own countries or to the Turkish Embassies/Consulates in their respective countries.
Candidate is selected by the related country or Republic of Turkey by the foreign representatives.
Commission also selects one reserve candidate for a quota of five, two reserve candidates for a quota of six or more.

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships:

Applicants should not be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey or hold a dual nationality (Turkish and any other country’s nationality).

Undergraduate candidates should have a “good” level of a high school graduation degree. The high school which was graduated from should be equivalent to the high schools in Turkey.

Candidates should not have suspended education more than 2 years after graduation and not be older than 25 years on the date of application.

Candidates for graduate studies (Master/PhD) should be a graduate of a 4-year university and not be older than 40 years on the date of application.

Research candidates should be a graduate of a 4-year university and have a good level of Turkish, English or French.

Candidates for the Turkish Language Summer Courses should be a university student or a graduate student.
